How to Become an EMT in Idaho

How to Become an EMT in Idaho Roadmap

Step 1: Make sure you meet the prerequisites

There are several prerequisites to becoming an EMT including make sure that you are 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and possessing a high school diploma or GED.

 

Step 2: Enroll in EMT training course

You need to enroll in a EMT training course. Ensure the course is accredited. It needs to be accredited by the state of Idaho. You can contact the state of Idaho at:

Step 3: Study, Study, Study

This is the hardest step of how to become an EMT in Idaho. EMT training requires you study. You will be given weekly written exams. You need 80% to pass. There is 80 to 100 questions. Each one is multiple choice. You also will have practical skills tests. These require 100 percent to pass.

 

Step 4: Pass National Registry Exam

You need to graduate an Idaho EMT training program first. Then, you can take your National Registry Exams. The National Registry Exams include both written and practical skills exams. There are some resources that help you pass these exams:
